Our Former Junior Board Members

Olivia Brumbach

Hi! I’m Olivia Brumbach, I have lived in Red Boiling Springs all 21 years of my life, and I served as the Junior Board Secretary from 2019-2021, where I aged out and became the Board of Directors Secretary from 2022-2023.

As I reflect on this period of my life, I am happy and fulfilled about helping and serving my community with the various programs and fundraisers that the 37150 Community Center sponsored. However, my primary job as Secretary was to ensure that the public had a truly transparent view of what plans the 37150 had in the works. Being Secretary also opened my eyes to the effort from the community and local officials that actually goes into starting and running a nonprofit. After serving the 37150 Community Center, and ultimately my local community in Macon County, I have gained the confidence to speak up and take action in front of others and built intergenerational and lifelong friendships amongst the community and board, which has prepared me for what I have done after my time on both boards for the 37150 Community Center.

After graduating from Macon County High School, I went to school at Vol State Gallatin for 1 year and transferred to TN Tech in Cookeville, where I have been working towards my Master’ for the past 2 years majoring in Nutrition/Dietetics to become an RD. I chose this major specifically because I am passionate about healthcare and because I like learning about how food and nutrition empower and uplift the world around us. This major also allows me to explore my passion for working directly with all members of my local community through nutrition counseling, preparing nutritious meals, and/or providing essential resources for my community to thrive and progress. By working with the resources and beyond amazing mentors throughout the beginning of the 37150 Community Center, I have also gained the necessary hands-on leadership and people skills required to be an RD. When I’m not away at college, I have worked at BabyNov in Red Boiling Springs for the past 3 summers, which I have loved because while I am gaining more knowledge about food and a traditional work environment, I also get to work with some amazing coworkers who additionally inspire me to continue working towards my goals and passions. Working with the members of the 37150 Community Center has also provided me with a connection and job opportunities at the Thomas House and The Palace, which I am beyond grateful for because I learned more about my profession, while also hearing the input from others outside of Macon County. Outside of my professional life, I give my time to helping with the community events and fundraisers for the 37150 Community Center and various volunteer opportunities at TN Tech because I want to better the communities that I am a part of, while also inspiring others around me to ultimately make the world around me a better and more connected place.

So to anyone who is considering joining the 37150 Community Center, I am more than happy to tell you my story and my journey to bettering myself for my community through the various leadership opportunities, problem-solving skills, and building lifelong connections you can build through this organization
